Evaluation rubric explained

At Peer Premier, we strive for quality, accuracy and completeness in the peer review process.  Check out our process for details.

Reviewer selection: We choose reviewers carefully, employing AI, network analysis and careful manual vetting. We ensure, each manuscript received 3 reviews within a week. You can find an example of a network analysis below. If you are interested in contributing to PeerPremier, please register with us.

Review structure: Each section of the manuscript will be assessed in detail with both quantitative and qualitative measures. For the results section, we ask reviewers to assess each figure and dataset in detail and comment on the relevance for the question/hypotheses the authors articulated. Furthermore, we also assess the suitability of the approach and techniques that were employed. A detailed exploration of controls, evidence, depth of investigation and statistics ensures that all aspects are assessed by all reviewers. At the end we also ask reviewers to comment on the strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript and specifically reference those aspects in the manuscript.

From the quantitative measures we calculate four scores: Quality, Novelty, Importance/Relevance and Presentation/Clarity. These measures are presented together with a detailed review report to the authors. The report is merged with the manuscript and returned to the authors. Note that all authors get one additional round of review included in the assessment fee.
